Food Services Operations Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, passionate Food Service Operations Manager to join our successful business at a time of growth. The individual will be experienced in developing and growing existing operations, whilst creating and building new operations from scratch.

Reporting directly to the Head of Food Services the role offers future development as the function grows within the wider business.

The company is a leading independent forecourt retailer who sets trends for others to follow, this is at the heart of its retail strategy and is demonstrated through its range of product and marketing campaigns.

This role does involve regular travel across England, and approximately staying away from home for 1 night per a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for improving and implementing operational and commercial processes within branded and non-branded operations to deliver tangible results at pace
  • Leading the operational development of new to market concepts, including creation of operating manuals, audits, and training packages to provide market leading commerciality and food safety standards.
  • Manage the future roll out of branded and non-branded developments
  • Optimising the labour model across brand and non-branded operations delivering a best in class offer
  • Input significantly into the pricing structure and commercial development of the branded operations
  • Lead the food services team to deliver tangible results across people, standards & commercial continually raising the bar
  • Work closely with field operations teams across all aspects of the food services proposition, to deliver world class operations

To be successful in the role, you should have:

  • Significant operational Food Services experience
  • Experience of leading, coaching and developing a team to deliver results at pace
  • Experience of creating and implementing manuals, training materials and food safety documentation
  • Experience of branded and non-branded food service operations at the front line
  • Resilient, robust and tenacious whist being able to take colleagues from around the business with them
  • Strong collaborative approach, combined with a willingness to constructively challenge the norm
  • Commercially aware with an ability to spot opportunities on complexity
  • Experience within forecourt or MSA operations preferred
